PM Wanted to Appoint Mr. Suong Sophoan as Sec. of the Council of Ministers after Join CPP

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen plans to nominate Mr. Suong Sophoan as Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers after he announced his political affiliation with the CPP.

Suong Sophorn is currently the president of the Khmer Win Party.

PM Hun Sen wrote on his Channel Telegram: "On behalf of the Cambodian People's Party, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr. Suong Sophorn who is willing to join the political life with the Cambodian People's Party. On behalf of the Royal Government, I will ask the King to issue a Royal Decree appointing Mr. Suong Sophorn as Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers.

The recent period has seen a series of affiliation movements with the CPP arising from senior non-governmental party officials. The senior officials include Mr. Yang Saing Koma, Mr. Sam In and Mr. Sem Hak, and finally Mr. Yim Sinorn and Mr. Hun Kosal.

It should also be noted that Mr. Suong Sophoan is the president of the Khmer Win party, former Khmer Power party of Mr. Suon Serey Ratha, who is currently the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Rural Development after joining the CPP.
